Overview
Chin and jawline filler is the application of hyaluronic acid based filler to selected areas in order to shape the chin and lower facial contour, balance facial proportions and make the jawline appear more defined.
Chin filler can adjust the shape, length and forward projection of the chin, while jawline filler aims to make the lower jaw contour look sharper and more defined.
These two procedures can be planned separately or together according to individual needs.
How Is Chin and Jawline Filler Performed?
Before the procedure the face is assessed both frontally and in profile. The position of the chin, lower facial proportions and the jawline are examined to determine the injection points and amount of filler.
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area and left for about 15–20 minutes. Hyaluronic acid filler is then placed at the planned points with a fine needle or cannula according to individual needs.
Mild swelling, tenderness or rarely bruising may occur afterwards. Most people can continue their daily routine.
